We believe a figure can be a gallery-worthy object of art. YŌHEN fuses the millennia-old ceramic traditions of Jingdezhen with contemporary anime aesthetics. Every piece is hand-sculpted, hand-glazed, and fired in a wood-kiln by master artisans. The kiln's unpredictable fire bestows each work with irreplicable glaze patterns — this is the meaning of yōhen: kiln transformation.

The Craft

From Clay to Collectible

Every YŌHEN piece requires over 60 days of patient work across four core stages.

Hand Sculpting
Jingdezhen kaolin clay, shaped entirely by hand. Every nuance of expression is carved with precision — no molds, no shortcuts.

Bisque Firing
First firing at 800°C removes moisture and solidifies the form, preparing the surface for glaze application.

Hand Glazing
Traditional blown and dipped glaze techniques, layered in our proprietary studio formulas. Each coat is applied by eye, not by machine.

Kiln Transformation
1,300°C reduction firing for 18 hours. The flame's path through the kiln creates unrepeatable glaze effects — the moment of yōhen.
